John K. McNeill SCV Camp #674

The OCR is nonprofit, nonracial, nonpolitical and   nonsectarian independent support group to the SCV. Each State Society has its own bylaws and standing rules. We assist the SCV with their historical, educational, benevolent and social functions. Special emphasis is placed on the preservation of Confederate symbols. As there are few rules and restrictions to stifle the creativity of its members, each Society is free to focus on the activities important to its members and local SCV Camps along with supporting their efforts on the state and national levels

About our Name "Bridwell's Southern Belles"

As we begin a whole new legacy we would like to
take this time to honor two individuals that we view as legends.  We often think of this couple as the Father and Mother of the SCV.  Jack reorganized the John K. McNeill #674 Camp in the 1980’s  and served as Commander of the Camp until resigning his position to take the position as Georgia Division Commander.  Without Jack’s willing sacrifice and commitment to this organization the legacy of our ancestors would be forever forgotten.

There is no Southern Belle any finer than Ms. Faye Bridwell. She has spent countless hours doing whatever it took to keep Camp #674 going.  Want to Know about Camp #674?  You need to go no further than Ms. Faye.  She knows everything from the member’s birthday’s right on down to the unit that
their ancestor served in.  She knows their trials and she knows their joys and is always there to do whatever she can to make things better.

Together the two of them published #674’s camp newsletter for many years.  Together they have battled to save, the Georgia Flag.  Together they have spent many days  keeping the Camp alive through fund raisers such as the Sunbelt Expo.  Together they will go down in history as one of the greatest couples the South has ever known.

With great pride we are Bridwell’s Southern Belles!
